Everyone who participated in the Response to Redundancy and the 6 Month Training programme were tracked for 13 weeks after leaving the programmes to help evaluate their success.

Those who had a successful job outcome were sent a questionnaire to complete, so the College could gain extra feedback and evidence. Everyone who returned a completed questionnaire received a £10 Asda voucher and were entered into a free prize draw for the chance to win £100 Asda voucher.

The lucky winner was:

Winner’s Name: Joanne Hodgkinson
Programme: Response to Redundancy
New Job: Howletch Lane Primary School, Supervisory & Clerical Assistant
Training Received: ITQ Level 1

Joanne thoroughly enjoyed her ITQ Level 1 training at East Durham College and she intends to use it as a stepping stone in her chosen career path.

Joanne always wanted to work in schools and having seen the advertisement for a Supervisory Assistant at Howletch Lane Primary School she was unsure whether or not to put an application in, but after a couple of meetings with the Coordinator at the College who went through her CV and letter of application with her she applied.

Straight away Joanne got an interview and two days later she started her new job.  Since starting her new role Joanne is also working in the offices and volunteers additional hours as she enjoys her job so much.

Well done Joanne on the prize draw win and more importantly your fantastic new job!
