Forensic Science student Samantha McCarroll has received the Student of the Month award for her work and commitment on her new course at the College’s new sixth form ED6.

Samantha,17, from Shotton Colliery, has been praised for her fantastic attitude towards the course and the standard of work she has been handing in is of a high standard.

ED6 lecturer in Biology, Claire Reinhard said: “Samantha’s attendance and punctuality is exceptional, she is always turning up earlier than required for lessons.

“Her work is always complete to a high standard and she is thorough in each lesson. Samantha is diligent, motivated and positive and is eager to learn as much as she can about Forensics so she can begin a career in the field.”

Samantha is a full time carer for her nieces and nephews and the staff at ED6 are also impressed at how she manages to keep up her commitment to the course despite caring.

Claire added: “Considering Samantha is a full time carer for her nieces and nephews she is working very hard to attend lectures, complete the work asked of her on time and to a high standard.”
