East Durham College student Chloe Price recently won the Sports Award at the College’s March Student Awards ceremony.
Chloe, aged 16 from Peterlee, is studying on a BTEC Lever 3 Subsidiary Diploma in sport and exercise science.
Her Lecturer Craig Shields said: "Chloe has a diligent and organised approach to work which sees her continually perform to a high standard both academically and practically.
"Chloe is a true example of how to make the most of the opportunity to be a 'Student Athlete' here at the College. She has impressed all staff with her mature and measured approach to her combined and demanding academic programme of BTEC Sport and Exercise Science and A-Level PE. This alongside the dedication she shows to her chosen sport of Athletics.
"Chloe runs to college most mornings and still participates with enthusiasm in academic lessons and always meets deadlines and produces work of a high standard. Chloe recently became county cross country champion and then also represented the College last month in the North East college cross-country championships and produced a superb performance winning the girls race by 53 seconds."
