Stephanie selected for Foundation Studies Student of the Month Award

Stephanie Currie has been awarded Foundation Studies Student of the Month in a ceremony at the College’s Scene1 restaurant on Monday.

Stephanie, 16, from Peterlee, is due to give birth to her first baby in November has impressed staff excellent attendance and commitment to her course as well as the quality of work she has been producing.

Foundation Studies Lecturer, John Rooks said: “Stephanie has fantastic attendance and punctuality and always turns up for class keen, focused and willing to learn.

“Stephanie is expecting a daughter in November but she has been fantastic at managing her time between college and medical appointments so she doesn’t interrupt her studies and she even finds time to help others.

“All of the tutors within the department have experienced developments within Stephanie’s attitude to college life and commitment to the course.

“Overall Stephanie’s personal and social development skills have developed beyond the teams expectations. “
