Are you over the age of 19 and looking for training to help you find work? With East Durham College's Steps to Employment training, we can help!
Steps into Employment is a selection of short courses designed for those looking to expand their skills, with the aim of increasing your employability.
Whether you're looking for a route back into work, or just want to improve your career prospects, these courses are ideal for you.
If you claim Universal Credit, Job Seeker's or other allowance/benefits, these courses are absolutely FREE.
Current Steps to Employment Free Courses
If you are over the age of 19, we currently offer a wide selection of free courses for those claiming benefits as outlined above. If you are not claiming benefits and would still like to attend one of these courses, please contact the Employability team using the contact details further down the page.
Our current offering includes the following courses:
- Customer Service (Level 1)
- Retail (Level 1)
- Contact Centre Advisor (Level 1)
- Hire Me (Level 1 Employability)
- Job Smart (Entry 3 Employability)
- How to Brand Yourself (Level 1)
- Introduction to Health and Social Care (Level 1)
- Introduction to Catering and Hospitality (Level)
- ITQ - IT Course (Level 1 and 2)
- Literacy and Numeracy - Entry 3 (Level 1 and 2)
ITQ, Literacy and Numeracy courses are on a constant roll-on and roll-off basis, meaning they are ideal for those with difficult circumstances and/or unavailable at certain times.
All of our other courses regularly repeat on a monthly basis.
