Groups of construction students at East Durham College’s Technical Academy have been using their skills to make Christmas displays around their campus.

Four festive displays by students in Tiling, Electrical, Plastering and Plumbing have all brought some Christmas spirit to The Technical Academy site located in Peterlee’s South West Industrial Estate.

Electrical students created a Santa’s sledge display from lights whilst the tiling students created a Christmas mural.

Plastering and Plumbing students weren’t to be outdone with the plasterers creating a fantastic Christmas tree display made totally from plaster whilst the Plumbers used copper piping to create a Christmas tree and sledge.

Education and Centre manager at the Academy Rob Hutchinson loves the work done by the students and believes they have been very creative with their talents.

Rob said: “I’m really happy with this year’s displays. Last year the electrical students made a display and it’s great to see that this year a number of the other trades participating and coming up with their own Christmas ideas to decorate the site.”
