Two beauty therapy students have won over £100 worth of products each from a leading skincare company.
The students from East Durham College, in Peterlee, were nominated by staff to win the Dermalogica products for excelling in their studies and selling the most retail products and treatments throughout the year.
Dermalogica sponsor two student of the year awards in the College’s beauty department, and this year Tamara Robinson, 18, from Trimdon and Danielle Hanley, 38, from Shotton clinched the prizes.
Danielle, who has just finished studying her Level 3 in Beauty Therapy, said: “I’m thrilled I have won!
“I would really like to thank my tutors, they have pushed me throughout the year and I wouldn’t have been able to do any of it without them.
“I’ve absolutely loved the course; it’s been life-changing for me as I open up my new salon in two weeks!
“But I’m planning to use all of my new Dermalogica products on my own skin as a treat!”
Programme Leader, Della Frank, added: “I’m really proud of Tamara and Danielle; they have worked so hard and also excelled in other areas of their studies.
“They have taken part in various events and visited local care homes and businesses to promote products and services as part of the promotional activities unit of their course.
“All of the students have worked very well in our busy commercial salon this year and done really well. I wish them all the best for the future.”
