East Durham College’s Students’ Union presented their Annual Talent Show last week in The Lubetkin Theatre, at the Peterlee Campus.

Over 100 people came along to watch the performances and support their favourite acts.

12 acts took to the stage and showed off their talent, to the audience and panel of judges, as singers, dancers, actors and musicians.

The judging panel consisted of Personal Learning Coach Beth Gilmour, Performing Arts students Michael Coulson and Brodie Jobson and Boxing Coach David Binns in the role of Simon Cowell!

David Binns said: “What a fantastic night! It was great to see the huge effort made by the organisers and all the performers. Well done to everyone who performed, you are all stars in my eyes.”

The 12 acts were whittled down to three for the final round where band Revenge of Elmo, street dancer Ryan Moore and singer Kelsey Douglas performed to be crowned the winner for 2011.

Kelsey’s rendition of ‘Stay’ by Shakespeare Sister won her the show and the grand prize of £100. “I’m absolutely delighted,” she said.
