A group of performing arts students from East Durham College recently visited London to see a performance of a new play called The Priory. The play, by Michael Wynne, was being performed at The Royal Court Theatre.
After the show the students were able to meet and interview one of the production's stars Charlotte Riley. Charlotte talked with them about her experience of finding work as a performing artist.
Billy Nicholson, Programme Leader for Performing Art at the College, said: “The trip has been a very positive experience for all the students involved. Charlotte is a real talent and she was able to offer excellent advice to the students on how to make it in the performing arts industry.”
Charlotte has links with the College as she worked in the Performing Arts Department prior to going to LAMDA. She is best known for her roles in Easy Virtue and most recently as Catherine Earnshaw in ITV’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights.
