Travel and Tourism students are this week spreading some Easter fun around East Durham College’s Peterlee Campus.
The students have been fundraising today with a host of activities including an Easter raffle with some fantastic prizes including an Easter hamper, Easter eggs and Easter cake.
Along with that they sold cakes and held a guess the name of the bunny competition.
The students raised £150 which will be sent to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
Later in the week the students will be working at Positive Steps Nursery, based at the College, hosting a number of Easter activities and entertainment for the children; from making baskets and decorating Easter eggs to Easter egg hunts around the childcare site.
Travel and Tourism Programme Leader Mandy Sert believes the week will be great fun for the students and children involved and believes the money raised will go to help a good cause.
Mandy said: “The students have been working hard over the last couple of weeks to come up with some fun ideas to raise some money as part of their course.
“They can’t wait to get started and I think it will be a fun few days around college for the students and for the children taking part in the nursery.
“It was a great morning of fundraising and it’s fantastic for the group to have a large amount to send off to a great cause.”
