Fri, 30/11/2001 - 00:00

Following East Durham College’s appeal for new horses to join their stables at Houghall, Durham, the equine department has had a really positive response.

However, due to some technical problems with the phone system at the Houghall Campus last week, some messages left by people expressing an interest were corrupted.

The college is looking for horses either on livery, to loan or to buy.

The horses will be used within the Colleges numerous courses and must be willing to work in the arena and be ridden by beginners, novices and also more experienced riders.

The Equine Studies department are looking for horses that are from 5 years old with a height of 15.2-17hh, vice free, quiet and easy to handle in and out of the stable and a preferred, but not essential, jumping ability of 2’ 6”.

Anne Symons, Curriculum Leader in Equine Studies said: “We have fantastic facilities here at Houghall and are looking for additional horses for our students to work with.”
