Xmas Tree With Extra Sparkle

A group of electrical students and their lecturers have built a Christmas tree with a difference.

Students at East Durham College’s Technical Academy, in Peterlee, constructed their ‘tree’ completely from the resources normally used on their electro-technology course.

The bright sparks came up with the idea of putting their skills to festive use, wiring circuits to create with tree.

Gary Cook, an Electrical Lecturer at the Academy, said: “The tree was built by the level 2 electro technical students and the level 3 apprentices.

“The students thought it was great fun to build and it really brightens up the work area.

“I now have plans for an Easter project which will of course involve chocolate!”
